Shira Gidding

Shira Gidding is SoBRO's Director of Environmental Planning. In this capacity, she manages two New York State Brownfield Opportunity Area (BOA) grants for the historically underserved neighborhoods of Port Morris and Eastchester in the Bronx. Additionally, Shira consults local property owners and SoBRO real estate development staff on environmental investigation, mitigation, and pre-development activities at underutilized, potentially contaminated sites. Coordinating creative strategies for implementation, Shira liaises between community stakeholders and city, state, and federal agencies on brownfield-related regulatory and incentive programs for assessment, cleanup, planning and development. Ms. Gidding holds a Master's Degree in Urban Planning from New York University.
