Denise Brinley

Ms. Brinley has served as Deputy Secretary of Pennsylvania DEP's Office of Community Revitalization and Local Government Support since July 2009. The office was established in 2003 to help the agency carry out Governor Rendell's plan to revitalize communities by promoting policies and initiatives that foster a climate of environmentally sound and sustained economic growth. This step - establishing an economic development group within the environmental protection agency - has won DEP national recognition. As Deputy Secretary, Ms. Brinley manages and coordinates community revitalization projects that large in scope, have the potential for statewide or national impact, or involve large scale investment from domestic or international groups. A "Forty Under 40" leader in Central Pennsylvania, Ms. Brinley has a geoscience degree from Franklin and Marshall College and a Master of Science degree in geology from the University of Maryland at College Park.
