Adrienne Farrar Houel

Adrienne Farrar Houel is Founder, President and CEO of the Greater Bridgeport Community Enterprises (GBCE), a 501c3 community development corporation whose mission is to create jobs, expand businesses and provide training in the growing green economy so families throughout the Bridgeport, CT region can achieve economic self-sufficiency while creating more sustainable communities. Under her direction, GBCE operates workforce development and employment programs presented as a suite or cluster of courses that together offer the student skill sets needed by employers. Training is focused on the construction industry and related trades and falls into three clusters: Brownfields Revitalization Training, Energy Conservation Training, and Deconstruction, ReUse and Recycling Training. GBCE has also created the Green Team Enterprise department that employs GBCE graduates and contracts for abatement, retrofitting and residential energy conservation work throughout the state of CT. Ms. Farrar Houel is a 1973 graduate of Harvard Business School and resides with her family in Bridgeport, CT.
