Opening Keynote Announced!
Mathy Stanislaus, Assistant Administrator, USEPA OSWER to give opening plenary keynote address!

We are pleased to announce that Mathy Stanislaus, Assistant Administrator, USEPA OSWER will present the opening plenary keynote address. Mr. Stanislaus will discuss the innovative Partnership for Sustainable Communities, a revolutionary attempt to bring HUD, DOT, and EPA together in support of creating sustainable communities. A panel will follow Mr. Stanislaus's address, where workshop attendees will hear from leaders at the three agencies about progress to date and plans for the future.

About Mathy Stanislaus:
Mathy Stanislaus, Assistant Administrator, USEPA OSWERMathy Stanislaus began work as Assistant Administrator for EPA's Office of Solid Waste and Emergency Response after being confirmed by the U.S. Senate on June 8, 2009. As Assistant Administrator for OSWER, Mr. Stanislaus is responsible for EPA's programs on hazardous and solid waste management, hazardous waste cleanup including RCRA corrective action, Superfund and federal facilities cleanup and redevelopment, Brownfields, oil spill prevention and response, chemical accident prevention and preparedness, underground storage tanks, and emergency response. Prior to assuming the position of Assistant Administrator for EPA's Office of Solid Waste and Emergency Response, Mr. Stanislaus co-founded, and co-directed the New Partners for Community Revitalization, a NY not-for-profit organization whose mission is to advance the renewal of New York's low and moderate income neighborhoods and communities of color through the redevelopment of Brownfields sites. In collaboration with community, commercial, government and nonprofit partners, Mr. Stanislaus led the development of policies, programs and projects aimed at achieving the remediation and sustainable reuse of Brownfields sites in New York. He is a former counsel for EPA's Region 2, senior environmental associate in the environmental department of the law firm Huber Lawrence & Abell and director of environmental compliance for an environmental consulting firm. He has served on the board of the NYC Environmental Justice Alliance.

Lunch Keynote Speaker: NJDEP Assistant Commissioner Nancy Wittenberg to Speak!

We are very pleased to announce that Nancy Wittenberg, Assistant Commissioner for Climate and Environmental Management at NJ DEP will give the lunch keynote address at NSCW 2010. Ms. Wittenberg will present "Renewable Energy Options in New Jersey."

About Nancy Wittenberg

Nancy Wittenberg currently serves as the Assistant Commissioner of Climate and Environmental Management for the New Jersey Department of Environmental Protection. In this capacity Ms. Wittenberg has responsibility for the programs that cover climate and energy coordination, air quality permitting and planning, radiation protection, release prevention, pollution prevention, quality assurance and solid and hazardous waste permitting and planning. This is Ms. Wittenberg's third "tour of duty" with the DEP having served as the Director of the Division of Environmental Quality in the early 1990s and as a hazardous waste permit writer before that. In between, Ms. Wittenberg worked in New York City for the Transit Authority and Bridge and Tunnel Authority and most recently for the New Jersey Builders Association. Ms. Wittenberg received a Bachelor's degree from the University of Vermont and a Master's degree from Duke University.

NSCW approved for 8 AICP Certificate Maintenance Credits
